BSU Truman State University November, 2011

Hello everyone, It is hard, no scary; and really with a feeling of just not being qualified enough to feel like we, my wife Stacey and myself, can find the best words that would just be humbling and Godly and wise and full of the joy of what the BSU continues to be for students who are in college today. To think of all the lives that the BSU has ministered to, been a part of; that meshing of Jesus and your life into one of the most intimate and close relationships ever. What the BSU means to me? Sounds like a report my teacher would ask me to give when I was in 3rd grade. How amazing it would be to hear the responses to that question. Now wouldnt that be somethinghmmmm. .Amazing GodAmazing Holy Spirit.Amazing Jesus You know the story of the Samaritan woman at the well when Jesus comes and sees a life with a desperate and deep need for a real and true life, a life with the places in it that only God could fill. As He encounters and starts sharing with the womanand actually it is more a story about us than this particular womanJesus says at one point: Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water." - John 4:10 NIV If you knewif you only knewthe real truth, the real hope, the genuine love, the passionate heart beat of God for youfor me the display of unconditional love of an innocent Christ on a cross and the message of who you are to God.if you knewyou would have asked It would be so so incredible to hear the work of God in so many of your lives from the days of your BSU experience and onward. And that is very much the prayer right now for the ones we are just so desperate for - to meet and understand and accept and know Jesus and God the father and the Holy Spirit. I amour students in leadership all 14 of themmy wifeour churchour friendsour fellow campus ministries we are just clinging to the life and truth of God to be at work in our lives for the girl who is engaging with us, the college guy who wants to work thru stufffor all of themthe college students we see today. Grateful for the ones who went before me when I was in diapers? Oh yes. For the ones before that who planted seeds, who built a foundation. Oh yes. For the ones who continually strengthened and served and shared and celebrated lives together for Jesus. Oh yes. For the churches and the members who were always praying, always sending a check for money for the electric bills, or for the mission trips, or

just for continuing to work in students lives. Oh yes. For the friends and families of so many students or staff or anyone who had a connection with the BSU and for all they gave and shared and did. Oh yes. It is a huge burden to feel you can adequately say thank you to so many I will not meet here on earth now, but with Christ in Heaven. God please let your Holy Spirit speak thru me in a very real and powerful way to everyone who might read this and know they were a part of your work, a part of something beyond any of our abilities, outside of our control and that you love them me us so very much. Thank you Jesus, and it is all for your glory. We love you. We trust you. We depend on you. In Jesus name, A-men. Thank you everyone. Thank you very very much! What do you see? It is hard to see or be a part of a place when you are just not there all the time; studying in the lounge, or walking to the library at 10:30pm at night; or eating in the cafeteria; or snowsleding on food trays, or etc and more. So, to be as much out of the way as possible and to pray and hope what you will see below will help you maybe connect in a fresh way with a place that still is seeking to impact lives for the Kingdom, here are a gaggle of snapshots. And some brief descriptions of some of the lives that we are a part of in various levels of their process of seeing themselves as loved ones of Almighty God and Jesus Christ. We hope you come away with a renewed sense maybe a fresh glimpse of God and His work that is still a part of this ministry that is just a bunch of people who love Jesus. With love and joy for you to know you are so loved by God, The BSU Tribe

a glimpse of what is on Gods agenda

What have you seen? a child of God who is continuing to wrestle with and come to accept a God love that is real and can be trusted; two students who are continuing to choose to come to Christian happenings whether it be a thanksgiving meal, or a family church event; someone who has known a lot about God for over 4 decadesbut who just this past year, for the first time, realized that God really truly loves him and has accepted that love, and is now discipling a student alongside others; a mom and dad with pre-college age kidswho are experiencing a love affair with God in a very fresh wayand who are being led in some exciting plans thru the Holy Spirit for their lives..and they have only known of Gods love since their college days; incredible student s in ministry positions at Truman who have God sized dreams for their peers and campus and who also have families in which they are the only ones who trust and depend on Gods love; a young adult who is experiencing a community of other young adults who are just as enthralled with what God is doing in lives..todayand who is making big steps in his personal life from a community of Godly loving and encouraging peers; and husband and wife who continue to just be desperate for Jesus every day of their lives; a girl who continually shares her life with her dorm roommates and sweet mates and girls in her hall and continues to build relationships from a framework of letting herself be placed in a right position so that Gods love can unobstructably shine on herand that love is now reflecting from her life onto those around her; a student who continues to ask and process just what the Bible stories are about and who Jesus is; a student who has shared their struggle and their heart and who is now experiencing a personal growth with Jesus and who is getting to use their talents as well to help others come to a place where they can meet Jesus; a few students in a place where they are wrestling with needs they have and who are continuing to experience struggles and have

allowed themselves to be helped and supported with a Jesus love and heart by others; a couple students who find the very heavy and large decisions of life directions to be very much a reality for them right now in their lives and who have been asking and seeking and sharing how the Holy Spirit is leading them, seeking Godly counsel and receiving consul from some of youalumniand who are just totally clinging to God to continue guiding them; a student who continually serves and nurtures so many others from their heart and love that is coming from Jesus; a little girl who because of her unstoppable demand to do something for the people in Japanhas impacted her friend who in turn also held an event and leveraged several adults to assist and raised nearly $40. and a communitya tribe of students and adults and familieswho are all intersecting lives and sharing lives all with the common denominator being an almighty, incredible, magnificent, holy, divine, majestic God and His Son Jesus Christ and the work of His Holy Spirit. Not all who are a part of these intersection of lives knows and trusts and depends on Gods love. And that is so hard to know when the day ends. What is exciting and is so much of our heart; is for them to know the ultimate relationship with the ultimate love of God. And what is cranking our hearts upis that they are askingthey are choosing to comethey are listening and talking. They are thirsty.

If you knewIf you only knew Jesus says. all things were created by him and for him. Colossians 1:16 NIV Deep primary needsand the One Father God who is the only one who can meet those needsthose needs He created in these students; in me; in you. Those places He created in you for Himself.

To repeat what was shared last month with so much gratefulness. Thank you so muchto all who just continue to pray and love and share and pray and love all of the students among the BSU and among this campus right now.we are so thrilled with joy and so grateful and feel so loved from a real, true, powerful love of Christ that you continually give to us!
