Promoting a culture of non-violence and peace
Violence, discrimination and exclusion cause suering or millions o people
across the world today. Born out o ear, ignorance and mistrust, these ac-tors undermine saety, health and human potential. Dierences o opinionand disagreements are a normal part o humanity, but the question is:
how
can we deal with these in a constructive way?
Violence, discrimination and exclu-sion are too oten looked at in isolation, as separate issues. However, they are
intertwined and have common root causes. By looking at these common rootcauses, we can seek common solutions.
The promotion o a
culture of non-violence and peace (CNV+P)
is not just aboutthe absence o war. It is not an end or nal goal, but a process. It is about creat-ing an enabling environment or dialogue and discussion and nding solutionsto problems and tensions, without ear o violence, through a process in which
