The amendment merely seeks some report after the Bill is passed and by some committee to be provided. Any provision must with it include the right to challenge detention within a reasonable period after incarceration. If however you have an undeclared sustainable internal war then the military may argue that you will have to wait until the war is over, which never will be.
If the Bill were to become enacted does this means every Senator and other person of the Federal executive can be detained for supporting the invasion into Iraq and causing by this if not directly then indirectly the death of thousands of US soldiers based upon a lie about WMD? After all whenever a politicians or government member lies it could be seen as an act of terrorism?
Mr. Udall, I am happy to see that you have not lost all sense of reason. I would hope that this bill, this NDAA meets with a swift defeat on the floor and not be passed. Until the section detailing with American detention is removed or amended. If it does pass, I ask that you stand with the White House and make sure that the President does his job, along with the Supreme COurt.
