Featured Committees House of Commons

Minister Leona Aglukkaq is scheduled to appear before the Health committee on Supplementary Estimates and will be joined by officials from the Department of Health, Public Health Agency of Canada and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. The comprehensive study into the E-commerce Market in Canada continues at the Industry committee with Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance appearing. Resource Development in Northern Canada continues to be the topic of study at the Natural Resources committee with testimony expected from Mine Training Society, Fortune Minerals Limited, Avalon Rare Metals Inc., and Canadian Zinc Corporation. Transport is set to hear testimony from Union des transports publics de Suisse and will also hear from Socit de transport de Montral as part of its extensive examination of the idea of a National Public Transit Strategy. Public Accounts will conduct an In Camera meeting for consideration of the Draft report on Chapter 4, Programs for First Nations on Reserves, of the 2011 Status Report of the Auditor General of Canada.

Government Orders Third reading debate (final day) is scheduled on the Budget Implementation Bill, C-13, An Act to implement certain provisions of the 2011 budget as updated on June 6, 2011 and other measures
Short Title: Keeping Canada's Economy and Jobs Growing Act Introduction and 1st reading: October 4, 2011 (Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty) 2nd reading debate: October 5, 2011; October 6, 2011; October 7, 2011; October 17, 2011 On October 6, 2011 the House passed a time allocation motion to limit 2nd reading debate on this bill to no more than 3 further sitting days Committee consideration: November 1, 2011; November 2, 2011, November 3, 2011 Bill adopted by Committee on November 3, 2011 and reported to the House without amendment on November 4, 2011 Report stage: November 15, 2011; November 16, 2011 On November 16, 2011 the House passed a motion to allot no more than one further sitting day to the consideration at report stage and one sitting day to the consideration at third reading stage to C-13; and that the necessary votes be called on the day allotted to each stage 15 minutes before the expiry of time for Government Orders without further debate or amendment.
