Urban Roots presents Matt Tilleys Collaboration Opening Reception: Friday, November 25 at 8pm

Oklahoma City, OK (November 25, 2011) Urban Roots is pleased to present Oklahoma City-based artist Matt Tilleys Collaboration, the fifth installment of Urban Roots visual art initiative. Collaboration opens Friday, November 25th at 8pm and features sculptures and mixed media works rooted in self-reflection, memory, inheritance and reclamation. In Collaboration, Tilley investigates the intersection of nature, time and chance. He is drawn to the subtleties generated when contrasting the natural and industrialized worlds, and his aesthetic explores symbiotic relationships and historical tension. Collaboration includes a series of sculptures co-created by Tilley and his father, Dwayne Tilley, using repurposed golf tees, gloves, baskets and other items. Tilleys multi-layered mixed media paintings unpack a network of inspirations and memories exploring color and form. Collaboration is Tilleys first exhibition. The opening reception coincides with Culture Kitchen, a monthly event that encourages impromptu interdisciplinary collaboration. Collaboration runs November 25 - January 26. Matt Tilley was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He received his BS in Language Arts Education from the University of Oklahoma, May 2007. He lives and

works in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
