Pitfall 1 - Designing the instrument based on one or two theoretical constructs Using one or two theories from one school of personality theories has its limitation. Let us use the analogy of the elephant as your personality. It is akin to the fables of six blind men trying to guess what an elephant is like. Using one theory to explain human difference is akin to one blind man touching the stomach and validates it and claims that the stomach is your personality. Researches have proven that the current existing instruments developed from one or two theories at most have an accuracy of about 55%. It is imperative to develop an instrument using multiple theoretical constructs to enable us to see the whole elephant to enhance greatly the accuracy of the psychometric assessment tool. KYKO Personality is a five dimensional model of personality and its test items are designed from multiple theoretical constructs via the gurus of personality from psychodynamic, social learning, social cognitive theories and the humanistic schools of thoughts. KYKO incorporates the biological theory to support its premises and uses the scientific approach to cluster traits into infinite personality types . Apparently, all psychological traits can be clustered under its five dimension model enabling us to see the complete picture of human personality.
