Study of Soil Hexapods Diversity in Different Type of Land Coveron Mangrove Ecosystem in Togean Island National Park, Tojo Una-Una Regency
.Under direction of HADI S. ALIKODRA, and YAYUK R. SUHARDJONO.Soil fauna is known compose 75% of each one million type of teresterial animalin the world. That number is dominated by Arthropods, specially Hexapods. InIndonesia, the research of soil Hexapods on mangrove ecosystem is very limited.Consequently, the information about diversity and role of Hexapods is also limited.Based on the reasons as mentioned above, this research focused on inventarisation of soil Hexapods diversity in ecosystem of mangrove. This research was conducted onthe six types of land cover in the area of National Park of Togean Island, Tojo Una-UnaRegency, Central Sulawesi Province. The data were collected from February to July2007 by using “
(PFT) and soil sampel (PCT)” method. The resultshowed that, the different density of population and diversity of soil Hexapods isinfluenced by compositioin of vegetation, litter layer, and composition of organic matter (C-organic) on six types of land. Soil environment factor like: temperature, humidity, pH, organic matter (C-organic and N-total) are also influence the abundance of soilHexapods. This research collected 2,567 individu of soil Hexapods, compose of 2,078Collembola, 489 Insect, which where grouped on 28 family and 12 ordo. Mangroveecosystem with high density of different type of vegetation have a good compositionand diversity of soil Hexapods. The number family that have a role as decomposition ismore (78.8%-100%) than as fitofag, predator, and parasit. The variation of family withdifferent role will emprove the stabilization of mangrove ecosystem. Keywords : Land cover, soil Hexapods diversity, soil environment factor, soilHexapods role.
