591050 Anaheim DucksNo question about Getzlaf's captaincyBy ERIC STEPHENSANAHEIM – The collapse of his team has Ducks coach Randy Carlylelooking high and low for a solution to their problems, but one thing that isnot under consideration is stripping Ryan Getzlaf of his captaincy.Getzlaf has come under some fire for his subpar play, which Carlyle notedSunday night after the Ducks' 5-2 home loss to Toronto. But as far asdiscussion as to removing the 'C' from the center's sweater, there hasn'tbeen one.Nor will there be one."I think those moves are something that is better served through the courseof a couple of years versus making a decision because we're playingpoorly," Carlyle said Monday after practice. "We understand that. We're notwinning. On Sunday, Carlyle said he wants his captain to "focus on playing hockey"and leave the other responsibilities of the role to the coaching staff.Getzlaf said he doesn't believe the captaincy is weighing on him and that"there's nothing to change about me other than talking to you guys morewhen we lose.""That's aside from the point," he said. "There's nothing else that is reallygoing on. Our organization is based on hockey right now and that's all I'mworried about. All this group's been worried about is getting back in the wincolumn."Getzlaf said that he has felt the need to put a lot of team's current troubleson himself "probably more than I should.""My nature is I expect high things of myself," he continued. "If I'm going toexpect my teammates to play at that level, I need to play at that level everynight. I haven't felt that I've done everything I can do every night. And that'smy responsibility."It's nothing to do with wearing a letter. It's got to do with the fact of who Iam and what I want to bring to the table. I don't think you can put that typeof emphasis on one individual, especially in our situation."Getzlaf has averaged 75 points in his last five full NHL seasons, but he has just four goals and 12 assists in 23 games and is on a pace for just 14 goalsand 57 points.MCMILLAN RE-ASSIGNEDBrandon McMillan was assigned to the Syracuse Crunch, the Ducks'affiliate in the AHL after two months of being able to display the form thatimpressed the club as a rookie.McMillan, 20, was a valuable performer for the Ducks a year ago as he had11 goals and 10 assists in 60 games. This season he has not scored whilecompiling just three assists.Orange County Register: LOADED: 11.29.2011591051 Boston BruinsFor line, work in progressKrejci trio trying, just not scoringBy Fluto ShinzawaWILMINGTON - The Jets were changing lines.
