QWERTY Cipher
The name "QWERTY" for our keyboard comes from the first six letters in the top
alphabet row. It was the work of inventor C. L. Sholes, who put together the
prototypes of the first commercial typewriter in a Milwaukee machine shop back
in the 1860's. The keys made their first appearance on a rickety, clumsy device
marketed as the "Type-Writer" in 1872. Typewriters had a problem of parts
sticking together when a proficient typist would type too fast. This keyboard
layout kept the the most used keys far apart and thus would avoid any sticking.

Word’s Worth Alphabet
Let’s suppose each letter of the alphabet was worth money.
The “A” is worth a penny and each letter is worth one penny more.
The “E” would be a nickle, the “J” worth a dime
and the “Y” is worth a quarter!
