Nearly 30 years ago, I purchased this small pamphlet with its seemingly ambitious title:The Cross of the Magi : An Unveiling of the Greatest of All the Ancient Mysteries. It was partof the
Basic Cryptogaphy Series No. 1,
by Frank C. Higgins, F.R.N.S., Roger Brothers, NY,London, 1912, in collaboration with Franklin B. Huntington S∴R∴, 32°. Strangely enough, these men were numismatists—and this seemed intriguing, since one so rarely finds the latterengaged in writing on esoteric subjects.I had to smile when I noticed that the price appearing on the worn out and crumbling coverwas 'One Dollar'. There was no other price marked on it anywhere else. Yet, after a cursoryperusal of the work, with its interesting illustrations and material on little known topics, itseemed worth buying. But I was afraid the bookseller might demand a premium price for suchan obviously rare (70 year old) periodical... Instead, he looked at the worn cover, and noticimgthe old printed price of one dollar, he said: "Oh, I dunno. It's in pretty poor condition... Howabout one dollar, just like it says on the cover?" Ya gotta love a guy like that...While some of the material is a bit questionable, on the other hand, much of it seemsreasonably cogent, and—in any case—provocative and insightful. It is a pleasure to have theoppurtunity to finally make this exceedingly rare treatise more widely available for others toreview.—kerberos51@hotmail.com

Can you please check page 15 on the original? I know there is an illustrated page labeled "p 15," but the text between 14 and 16 do not match. Thanks again for this booklet!
