FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEDecember 2, 2011SOUTH PASADENA, CA – Information on Emergency Service Efforts The City of South Pasadena Department of Public Works is working on clearing and cleaningdamaged trees on the public right-of-way. Residents are urged to report any issues with City Treesto the Public Works Department at (626)403-7240. Some areas of the City are still experiencingpower outages due to downed lines. If you see a downed power line or experience a power outageplease call the Southern California Edison Outage Hotline at (800) 611-1911. The City of South Pasadena has opened a shelter for displaced persons at the South PasadenaSenior Center located at 1102 Oxley St. next to the library. Red Cross resources will be brought into help make those seeking shelter as comfortable as possible. The shelter will remain open forresidents without power or heat and no other options for off-site shelter for the duration of thepower outage. More information can be obtained by calling the South Pasadena Police Departmentat 626-403-7297. Animals will not be permitted, however shelter can be arranged through thePasadena Humane Society.

Crews are working diligently to restore power to all customers. You can get updates by visiting theSouthern California Edison website:http://www.sce.com/PowerOutageCenter/poweroutagecenter.htm or call (800) 611-1911. The Library will have extended hours over the weekend. The community is welcome to stop by tokeep warm, charge cell phones and/or laptops and just lounge in comfort away from the cold. Formore information call (626) 403-7330. The South Pasadena Senior Center is now a temporary shelter for those without power. The RedCross is providing cots, blankets and pillows. The City will be providing a modest meal. (626) 403-7360
