I’ve just started reading Getting your kidsthrough church without them ending uphating God. Interestingly it doesn’t comeup with fantastic ideas for transforming theyouthwork, but what it does do is posechallenges about what our motives andvalues are and also questions the way Itreat my children - how I show them theyare loved and accepted. Rob Parsons says:

If you really want to get them throughchurch without hating God, make surethey don’t see church as the maincompetitor for your time.

I am sad to admit that I have often put‘church work’ before the children and nowwe are faced with the situation that one of our children doesn’t want to come tochurch.Over the past few months Chris and I havebeen attempting to tackle the editing of theParish News together - he’s been doing allthe work and then I’ve been changing it!It’s not really working and I’m findingtime to write this at 6am on a Saturdaymorning. So I would like to ask if there isanyone who feels that they might bewilling to take on the role of editor of the
