NSE: GEODESIC ) a leading provider of mobile and desktop solutions for instant messaging, Internet Radio and mobile VoIP, today announced its consolidated results according to Indian GAAP for the Second Quarter FY09 ended September 30, 2008.
• Geodesic reported revenues of Rs. 1612 million (US$ 34.35 million) for the quarter ended September 30, 2008, an increase of 127% as compared to the quarter ended Sept 30, 2007.
• Geodesic’s operating income for the second quarter ended Sept 30, 2008 was Rs. 154.23 million(US$ 32.86 million), an increase of 125% as compared to the quarter ended Sept 30, 2007.
• Geodesic’s net profit for the second quarter ended September 30, 2008 soared by 127% at Rs. 75.15 million (US$ 16.01million) as compared to the quarter ended Sept 30, 2007.
• EPS for the second quarter ended Sept 30, 2008 stands at Rs. 8.12 (US0.17$ ) as compared to Rs 4.75 (US0.15$ ) EPS of the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The name of the Company has changed from “Geodesic Information Systems Limited” to “Geodesic Limited” w.e.f. September 19, 2008. The name of the company was changed in order to integrate various activities done by the company and its subsidiaries.
The Company has closed licensing deal with Medion AG, leading European consumer electronics manufacturer to provide award- winning Mundu IM service on new mobile communications device.
During the quarter, Chandamama India Limited one of the subsidiaries of the company conducted a “Children's Day Out” a mega event in Chennai, Coimbatore and Hyderabad. This event saw over 4000 children in each city participating in activities such as Painting, Clay Modeling, Story Telling, English Debate and single-wicket cricket. The participation was overwhelming and Chandamama India Ltd further plans to roll this event out across India.
Geodesic signed deals with World’s leading digital and offline media agencies to handle the global marketing activities for the launch of their new product.
