REPAIRS:
Dining Room: Marjorie gave an update on the work in the dining room with Mr. Johnson:Construction of the replacement key for the dining room table is finished and the cost was $387. Inaddition, Mr. Johnson also fixed a few dining room chairs by tightening nuts underneath to makethem steadier.Goals discussed for Fall Semester:

Two printers, computer, etc.French Room: The board discussed the smaller chairs surrounding the table in the French Room.Marjorie recalled that the chairs had been reupholstered at one time, but it may be time to solicitadditional estimates for the 6 chairs again.Kitchen: The House President informed the Board that the Kitchen Floor is damaged from aleaking laundry washer. The washer had to be replaced and the house was able to obtain a used washer/dryer from the Towers Dorm at a discounted price. However, there still remains the issueof the floor space near the washer that suffered some water damage. Because this is part of theactual structure of the house itself, it is under the purview of BU and does not fall in HERAA’sjurisdiction. Katie will notify Ken Douglas at the Office of Residence Life about the need forrepairs in the floor.
HOUSE HISTORY:
Marjorie briefly summarized the history of the house to help inform the new members of the Executive Board. BU purchased the building in the 1920s and opened as a dorm in1928. Harried E. Richards helped set up a fund for maintenance of building. It is important to notethe differences between what is Indigenous to building itself vs. the decorative arts (HERAAResponsibility). HERAA has purchased things like the dining room chairs, sofas, serving tables,front bathroom sink, etc.
