As we celebrate our 12th anniversary and whatwould have been Diana, Princess o Wales’ 50thyear, we elt it was tting to expand the awardinternationally, this venture is being supported byHSBC. The move to begin recognising the selfesswork o young people on an international scale isa natural progression that is in keeping with theremarkable charitable work that Diana herselpioneered all around the world.We have also taken the opportunity tore-categorise the award to make it easier tonominate those who make a positive contributionto their communities.The Diana Award now has ve categories orindividuals and groups o young people agedbetween 9 and 18.

This year, we have proudly welcomed 2,207 newinspirational Award Holders. 200 young peoplehave helped at Diana Award events, ceremoniesand taken part in internships.The Diana Award is also recruiting 2,000Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, a peer-led initiativethat provides young people with the condenceto campaign against bullying. For more detailsturn to page 8.We are delighted that two new Patrons have joined us, The Prime Minister, Rt Hon DavidCameron MP, and Lord McConnell, turn to page 4.With a growing network o almost 40,000 AwardHolders, we are building a orce o young peoplewho are committed to take social action andimprove our communities.We never ail to be inspired by the stories oAward Holders and we hope you enjoy readingabout how we have celebrated their dedicationto make a positive contribution.With warmest wishes,

They spokeinspiringly about their undraisinginitiatives, championing causes,anti-bullying projects, buildingcohesive societies and theiraspirations or the uture.

226 inspirational young peopletravelled rom across the UK toattend our Award Ceremonies andDiana Network event at Barclays,Canary Whar, London. DianaAward Ambassadors Sinitta andAndrew Cowles were on hand topresent the awards. Naomi rom the Sutton YoungAdvisors, said:
“The main thing that I really enjoyed about  the Award Ceremony was that we got to hear all theinspirational stories of theother young people whoreceived the award too.”

Jack McConnell, ormally a FirstMinister or Scotland has joinedthe Prime Minister David Cameronas one o our patrons or theDiana Award.Lord McConnell met with AwardHolders and accepted his role asPatron during a visit to MenziesDistribution Centre in Scotland,Menzies is the Diana Award’scorporate partner in Scotland.Lord McConnell, Patron o theDiana Award, said:
“There are thousands of youngstersin Scotland and across therest of the UK who make a terrific contribution to their school, family andcommunity. The DianaAward recognises theirefforts and inspires them to continue making acontribution to society as adults.”
75 Award Holders attended theInspire Conerence, a special dayor young people in the DianaNetwork to develop skills inun and interactive workshops,network with each other anddevelop community projects. Joe said: “The Inspire Conerencewas really good because it wasan excellent chance to meet newpeople and learn new lie skills inthe workshops.”
