"For the purpose of responding to this invitation to tender. I am proposing to establish, if successful, a dedicated company with registered offices on Rathlin Island and with the working title of Rathlin Island Ferry (RIF). I will, of course, be providing full details of two companies which already operate in areas similar to that of the Rathlin service.
........

One company, Tithe Saoire Chléire Teo (which means Cape Clear Holiday Homes Ltd) operates two pubs, two restaurants and a number of holiday cottages with another block of catered accommodations currently under construction and all based on Cape Clear Island. This is also the company which won a public tender process contract from the Dept of Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to provide the lifeline passenger and cargo service to Cape Clear Island from Baltimore for a 5 year period from 1/3/07. As part of the tender process the Dept accepted the option of providing a new main vessel from the beginning of year 4 of the contract."
