Hey friend, nice to work with you again, please see attached the new 4 assignments, on the 2 assignments

i copied for you also the module 2 summary because one of the questions relate to it. Please do it in the same way, references must. Please see my teacher requirements( he does not like when a student use quotes- everything must be in own words) Here is it: 1. Write out each essay question, Case Study, or Professional Development and number them being sure to mark in bold font so they stand out from your essay work. 2. Read and study the textbook and find fresh references pertaining to the essay question. Do not regurgitate what the textbook says because I already know that material and that is NOT your own original work. 3. Put what you learned into your own written words for each essay; 4. Use the last paragraph of each essay for your personal conclusions on the topic incorporating the principles you learned by adding a practical situation encountered at work or from a past experience; 5. List all references used (1 for textbook, 5 other outside references/sources) at the end of the paper using APA style. 6. Please write one essay question and answer after the other and do not start new pages for each question or use extra spacing between essays. Of course, the use of APA formatting style, correct grammar, and spelling are required. You may use direct quotations from a reference in your text or use footnotes. Put all references at the end in your list, including your textbook each module. Each Essay should be in paragraph style (not answer style with one solid block of text). Look at it as a mini-story with a brief introduction, body, and conclusion for each essay.
Module # 1
1. Go to this Web site http://www.inovus.com/organiza.htm on organizational design. Explain in your own words (no quoting of text from there) on: (a) organizing on purpose and (b) describe the design process strategy organizations use. Take these principles and apply them to an old-line company like Delta Airlines that certainly is organized. Supply the Delta logo in your essay. Why are small companies (under 50 employees) important to our economy? What are the major problems faced by small companies that would lessen their effectiveness to succeed or drive them out of the market altogether? Give some examples of how organizations can affect the cities in which they are based. Use the city/area in which you now live and also report on an international city of your choice. How do you believe internal organizational changes affect the social structure of an organization; for instance, a new division must be developed in the hospital in which you work with the addition of 50 more employees? What steps could senior managers take to minimize the negative aspects of this type of change in order to preserve the social structure of the hospital? Explain the differences between horizontal and vertical differentiation. Give examples to support your explanation and then provide a chart, logo, or illustration taken from your research. What is your personal experience with this?

Module # 2

1. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. You are the MBA graduate-child of the owner (your father) of a small, old line family book publishing organization that thinks it wants to develop a "boutique book division" to reach the teen-young adult demographic. It is up to you to design this new organization using a matrix of management levels, administrative support, technology, sales, purchase, marketing, staff, or whatever else you think you need. You are allotted a tiny budget of $250,000 to create this new division and prove it will be profitable. Find a similar organization online and adapt some ideas for your new project. Write your report to the CEO. 2. Write an essay on one key insight of institutional theory which produces evidence that "national culture" affects how organizations are structured. Explain how these phenomena are amplified in multinational organizations such as Mercedes Benz. 3. Summarize the theorists' arguments concerning the practical institutional theories of (a) functional, (b) product, and (c) matrix forms of organization. Find, copy, and paste into your essay a graph of each of these forms of organization. Be sure to give credit below and centered under each graph you find or create yourself. 4. Go online to http://organizationalstructure.net/ and explain what you found as it relates to the principles in this Module. 5. In creating formal structure, debates have been enjoined over the processes involved. Taking internal organizational politics as an example, outline some of the findings Child (1972), Robert Michels (1949), and other researchers have found when comparing American to European organizations. Explain the concept of "equifinality" by using two Internet references and giving your own opinion on that concept. Summary: This Module introduced several explanations that have been developed to explain the forms that organizational structures take. Organizational structure is dynamic. Organizations change in size, implement new technologies, refine business processes, and develop new strategies - all of which can impact their structures. We have considered a series of explanations of organizational structure. These have ranged from the contextual factors such as size and technology to strategic choice and institutional isomorphism. Which is the correct explanation? It should be obvious that neither "all of the above" nor "none of the above" is the best answer. The explanations of structure must be considered in combinations. Organizations do not take form automatically. They take a specific form because of decisions that are made, and that brings us back to the factor of strategic choice. Organizations may diversify or reorganize to better fit to a specific national culture in which they operate. They may alternatively seek to differentiate themselves from other organizations and thus not conform to institutional pressures. When faced with multiple and conflicting environmental contingencies, they may respond with "misfits." Strategic choices are also made in light of the technologies available and appropriate for the organization in question. In recent years a new element has been added to strategic choice. Many organizations are choosing the path of downsizing. This can involve laying off employees at all levels and "outsourcing" activities purchasing products and services outside the organizations boundaries, employing cheap labor in a location "offshore" or buying services from an outside vendor.
Module # 3

1. Organizations have been defined as systems of power. Explain what this means (a) within a multinational corporation of your own country, (b) a non-profit organization, and (c) a higher education institution. Use examples of your own choice. 2. Define where leaders get their power and how they keep it or lose it when there are shifts in power within an organization. Give an example of an experience you had in a company or organization you worked at where you saw this in action. 3. Discuss Webers Typology of Authority. Go online to this site in order to compare and

contrast Weber's three power sources against others' ideas: http://www.cf.ac.uk/socsi/undergraduate/introsoc/weber11.html. Write your own opinion on Weber's theory. 4. Bacharach and Lawler identify a number of different ways in which actors come to control power resources. Describe power resources and give details and explanations of their research. In what ways are power resources practically worked out in most organizations? 5. Define the outcomes of power in these situations: (a) compliance and involvement, and (b) conflict. Detail at least three key bases of conflict and how these might impact the company you work for now or one you previously worked for.

1. Gary Yukl, Wall, and Lepsinger identified fourteen separate leadership functions. List only the top three in your opinion that appear to be the most important and describe their functions in terms of producing leadership success for an organization. Next, connect them you own leadership traits that would assist in your own career. Explain your reasoning. 2. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Research suggests that leaders who are more interpersonally-oriented and those who use more participative styles in particular, have followers with higher levels of satisfaction and morale. Go to: http://www.womensmedia.com/lead/88women-and-leadership-delicate-balancing-act.html. In your opinion, is the United States ready for a female president as other nations (UK, Israel, India) have already led the way? 3. Review three general factors that have been the focus of researchers' attention regarding who becomes defined as a leader. Search the Internet for "organization leadership". Report on what you find and cite your reference with the complete link. 4. Describe the big five personality characteristics given in this Module. Does the possession of these characteristics necessarily guarantee leadership effectiveness? Why or why not? 5.
