Boeing
Boeing has unveiled the 737 MAX, a new rangeof the 737 aircraft equipped with new jet en-gines. The engines, codenamed CFM Interna-tional LEAP-1B, improve fuel efficiency by 7%, adesired feature for airlines. According to

Cisco
Outsourcing and telecom infrastructure special-ist Cisco has announced plans to open a sup-port center in Kraków for Cisco clients in Eu-rope, the Middle East, Africa and Russia. Thenew center will be a part of the existing supportcenter network and will provide services forCisco’s internal and external clients in serversand financial services. The new center will alsosupport Cisco’s internal operations. TheKraków center is scheduled to open in mid-2012.In other news, the Nencki Institute of Experi-mental Biology, part of the Polish Academy ofSciences, has built an IT platform based onthe Cisco Unified Computing System technol-ogy which enables consolidation of the insti-tute’s physical servers on a virtual platformand protection of the system’s data. It uses anintegrated, high-performance, scalable datacenter infrastructure with centrally managedcomponents.

Security concerns remain the biggest obstacleto the further development of online shoppingin Europe, despite ever-increasing use of con-sumer technology products and advancesmade in the security of credit card paymentmethods, such as Chip and PIN, according tonew research by global property consultancyCBRE.It was the first study of its kind, polling morethan 10,000 people to understand consumerattitudes to online shopping in 10 Europeancountries. CBRE asked consumers what pre-vented them from shopping online. Securityemerged as the top issue—more importantthan delivery cost and convenience or lack ofa credit card.
