Conducting independent and objectiveaudits, evaluations, investigations, andother reviews of SEC programs andoperations;
•Preventing and detecting fraud, waste,abuse, and mismanagement in SECprograms and operations;•Identifying vulnerabilities in SEC systemsand operations and recommending con-structive solutions;•Offering expert assistance to improve SECprograms and operations;•Communicating timely and useful informa-tion that facilitates management decisionmaking and the achievement of measur-able gains; and•Keeping the Commission and the Congressfully and currently informed of significantissues and developments.
