Thanks for coming!PR: Thanks for having us.I: Let’s jump right in- what’s with the table and chairs?PR: Well, tables are surfaces where people work on things, sharethings, eat, drink, speak. We have a table based on the hope thatpeople will use it here in the art gallery.I: So, you’re opening up this table to be used by people who visitthe exhibition. What should they do, how should they use it?PR: The table has been surrounded by artwork, and visitors areinvited to investigate the works at the table. For instance, aperson could choose to listen to a cassette tape with another person while looking through a comic book together. The idea isto promote an experience with the works that is a tactile, visual,and aural.I: What is the connection between all of these sculptures, books,
Interview With the Exhibition IIWe (Proximal Rounds) are the unique scenario of these objectsplaced in proximity with one another. This is our way of enlarging the “round”- of furthering the ripples created by theseobjects. Collectively, their complexities are greater. Taken inhand, together, the objects contribute to a Proximal Round thatshifts meaning fluidly as they are handled by each new group of unique people who take a seat at the table.I: Is any of this for sale?PR: No. All objects are on loan from their creators, and will bereturned to their bedrooms, mantles, bookshelves and studioswhen the show ends.I: Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today.PR: It was our pleasure.
