Biography

Sammy S. Noumbissi DDS, MS


Sammy S. Noumbissi obtained his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington DC, USA. After obtaining his DDS, he received formal training in implant dentistry and implant surgery while attending the three-year Graduate Dental Implantology Residency program at Loma Linda University, California, USA. There he earned a certicate in Dental Implantology and a Masters of Science degree in Implant Surgery. For the past 12 years he has limited his private practice to dental implantology and in the last ve years he has integrated three-dimensional dental imaging and metal free implantology. He is currently an associate professor of dental implantology at Wichita State University postgraduate program in Advanced General Dentistry. Dr. Noumbissi is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Implant and Clinical Dentistry and the founding president of the International Academy of Ceramic implantology. He is active in clinical research and in areas that further the science of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Noumbissis applied area of research is focused in the elds of hard and soft tissue regeneration and osseointegration. His clinical research emphasizes the applications and benets of zirconia dental implants as single implants or in cases of full mouth rehabilitation. He has published abstracts and articles in peer reviewed dental journals namely the Journal of Dental Research, the Journal of Oral Implantology and the Journal of Implant and Clinical Dentistry. Dr. Noumbissi integrates advanced technology, natural healing philosophies and strong scientic concepts in his practice. He maintains a holistic dental implantology practice in Silver Spring, Maryland where he provides stateof-the-art metal free dental implant care. Dr. Noumbissi is founder of Miles of Smiles Institute for Dental Implantology, he lectures extensively and trains dentists nationally and internationally on topics relating to diagnosis and treatment planning and the multiple applications of dental implants in oral rehabilitation.

COURSE OVERVIEW:
This course is designed to provide the clinician with the ability to condently integrate one-piece zirconia dental implantology in his/her practice. This will be achieved by means of lectures, over the shoulder hands-on sessions on models, live surgery and live restorative demonstrations. The lecture material will cover zirconia as a dental implant material, patient examination, case selection and the use of advanced treatment planning modalities for both surgical and prosthetic aspects of zirconia implantology. Soft Tissue and bone management when placing and restoring zirconia implants will also be covered. This course will include in-depth coverage of: Zirconia as a dental implant material Anatomy Importance and advantages of cone-beam imaging Utilization of interactive CT treatment planning software Biomechanics of zirconia dental Implants Learn about appropriate prosthetic treatment planning Soft and hard tissue assessment prior to implantation Immediate, delayed and pseudo-loading of zirconia dental implants Restorative methods and materials Achieving superior aesthetic results Simulated surgical placement of zirconia implants will be practiced on models and followed by one live surgery and one live restorative presentation.

Course cost is $600 for rst day and $1,000 for both days per person. The sessions include an in-depth lecture, live surgery, hands-on over the shoulder workshop, and lunch. 6 CE credit hours will be awarded for rst day. 12 CE credit hours will be awarded for both days. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course will enable you to: Recognize indications for successful placement of zirconia dental implants. Identify the prosthetic need for site preparation and/or preservation. Differentiate indications for different temporization techniques. Utilize CBCT and virtual implant planning software to increase case success. Appropriate selection of permanent restorative materials.
