ARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION INTERNSHIPS
ARCH Development Corporation (ADC) is a twenty year old 501[c] [3] not-for-profit community basedorganization that believes arts and the creative economy can be employed as part of a comprehensive,synergistic approach to community revitalization in the Anacostia community of Washington, DC.Founded in 1991, the organization began providing small scale neighborhood and businessdevelopment. In 2004, the Board developed a strategic plan that lead to a change in focus. ADC believesthat, in collaboration with other community groups, arts and cultural activities will not only support theindividual artist, but it will fuel economic growth while providing programming for residents that iscurrently unavailable
ADC operates and runs programs out of several cultural facilities within the historic Anacostiacorridor:
Honfleur Gallery, The Gallery at Vivid Solutions, Vivid Solutions DC Print Lab, BlankSpace SE andthe ARCH Artist in Residency Program. ADC is seeking interns for two of the above programs.
HONFLEUR GALLERY INTERNSHIP:
Honfleur Gallery is a state of the art, contemporary art space thatruns a rigorous schedule of exhibitions ranging from socially thematic artworks to conceptualinstallations. A qualified intern must be reliable, organized, personable, and detail oriented. Aprofessional manner with verbal and written communication skills are required, as the gallery intern is afirst point of contact for visitors.Intern will work under the direction of the COO & supervision Honfleur’s Creative Director.
Responsibilities will include:
maintaining and updating mailing lists, assisting with installations asneeded, preparing mass mailings, preparing image files and submissions for review, assistance withexhibition openings and maintaining the ARCH Development Survey Program. Intern should beproficient in Microsoft suite. Experience with managing images files and graphic design a bonus. Aweekly travel stipend will be offered. Hours to be agreed upon amicably but will generally fall within therange of Tuesday-Friday 12-5pm and Saturdays from 11-5pm. This is great opportunity to learn the dayto day operations of a fine art gallery.
THE GALLERY AT VIVID SOLUTIONS & VIVID SOLUTIONS DC PRINT LAB:
The Gallery at Vivid Solutionsspecializes in photography and/or digitally based art or similar media. The space produces fourexhibitions annually, two of which are part of a larger, community wide arts initiative, “The East of theRiver Exhibitions” and “DC Fotoweek.”The Vivid Solutions DC Print Lab is co-located with the gallery. Through the use of high-end, professionalEpson printers and a new printing technique developed by Epson France called “Digigraphie,” VividSolutions offers fine art replications and high-end printing.Intern will work under the direction of the Creative Director and the supervision of the Director of Digital Productions.

A qualified intern mustbe reliable, organized, personable, and detail oriented. A professional manner with verbal and writtencommunication skills are required, as the gallery intern is a first point of contact for visitors. A weeklytravel stipend will be offered. Hours to be agreed upon ammicably but will generally fall within the rangeof Tuesday-Friday 12-5pm and Saturdays from 11-5pm. This is great opportunity to learn the day to dayoperations of a fine art print lab and the ins and outs of community based arts initiatives.
