12 Winning Seasons
Celebrating The Leadership of Dr. Robert L. Holloway
Lindsey Wilson College has enjoyed unprecedentedgrowth over the last dozen years. When the 20th centuryended, Lindsey Wilson was a very good college with a proud history but a somewhat clouded future. As Lindsey Wilson enters the second decade of the 21stcentury, it is an outstanding liberal arts college that is theenvy of many of its peers. It is a college with a clear senseof mission and focus, poised to achieve goals that wereonce unimaginable only a decade ago. There are many reasons why Lindsey Wilson has been oneof Kentucky’s greatest higher-education success stories of the last 12 years -- an outstanding faculty and staff com-mitted to students’ success; one of the most aggressive building programs in the commonwealth; and the record-setting “Changing Lives Campaign.”But none of that growth would have been possible withoutthe outstanding leadership the college received from thetop – and that started with Lindsey Wilson Board of Trustees Chair Robert “Bob” Holloway. For the last 12 years, Bob oversaw the most dramatic ex- pansion in the 108-year history of Lindsey Wilson. He wasalso the longest-serving board chair in the history of thecollege, leading the trustees from 1999-2011.Most annual reports review an institution’s fiscal year. But because the 2010-11 fiscal year also marked the end of Bob’s tenure as board chair, this issue of the President’sAnnual Report also reflects on how this institutionchanged during his 12 years of inspiring leadership.
