David Uritz

What made you get into the insurance business and how long have you been working at it? A friend talked me into coming down to San Diego in the summer of 1980. I did and they gave me solid leads. I stayed one year and two summers and decided to move back to Los Alamitos, CA and start over. I did well right away, worked for another organization and eventually went on my own. How did you become an FSFP family member? I met Tim in May 1980 at Northern Life Insurance Company. I realized a single tier level commission annuity was for me and the rest is history. Tim was always there for me and as he grew Northern Life, I grew with him. Lynda and I saw the world with Tim and its been a great ride! What are your favorite products?

The Four Seasons Midland National product. I particularly like fixed annuities with bonuses. An older client does not have to worry about long surrender periods if it is a qualified plan because at age 70 , they have to take required minimum distributions and all penalties are waived. I like non-qualified annuities as well, as they grow tax-sheltered and there is no age when monies have to be taken out. Great for estate planning! What would you say to someone starting out in the business? It is very difficult today. They would have to specialize in one or two areas, like IRAs, Roth IRAs, Life Insurance, etc. to be successful. A good lead generation system would help. Be honest and ethical and good things will come your way! When you are not working, what do you like to do for fun?

Play golf, read and travel. I moved to the Dessert six years ago and Lynda and I love it. My dad told me many years ago Get yourself in a position that you are working because you choose to, not because you have to. My dad was right. Tell us a little bit about your family. I have been married almost 41 years to the same woman. I have 3 children; one boy and two girls. My youngest, Nicole, is getting married this summer and that is keeping us busy. I have one grandchild, Everett, who is 11 years old and every chance we get to spend with him is an absolute joy. My dad is turning 98 in the fall and were all looking forward to his 100th birthday. Hes determined to make it. My family all live in California, so we get to see them.
