The Center always sets the huddle 7 yards from the ball. Set up quickly. 2. The huddle is two lines of five, one behind the other. Keep it straight so all can see and hear. The Quarterback and the Center are responsible for the shape of the huddle, 3. Line up quickly with your hands on your knees, head up and eyes on the Quarterback. This will allow you to see ‘and hear the Quartesback. 4, The Quarterback has complete control ofthe huddle when he says ‘listen’ 5. You will recieve the following information in the huddle: a, Formation (possible shift or motion) b. Play ©. Snap count (repeated) Example: 1. Strong Right, Z Opposite, 28 Stretch, On 3, (pause) On 3, Ready Break. 2, Left, 25 Zone, On 2, (patte) On 2 Ready Break. 6. Ifyou did not hear what the quarterback said call ‘check’. 7. ‘Ready..Break’ is the signal to leave the huddle, (all clap hands). Recievers will leave one count before the huddle break. The offensive finemen will tum to the inside and run to the line of scrimmage, 8. The huddle reflects the attitude of each man and the teas. - keep the huddle sharp, 9, Quarterback - Do not call ‘Ready...Break’ until the recievers have left the huddle. B, SNAP COUNT |. THE CADENCE AT THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE (LOS) 1, The Quarterback will place his hands under the center immediately so he can set the defense. 2. The Line will make its call. 3. The cadence will be non-thythmical when the ball is snapped on one, two or three. D. HARD SNAP COUNT. 1. Inthe huddle the Quarterback may call the play on ahard 3 or 4. 2. The Quarterback will use a voice emplasis on the hut prior to the snap count. ‘Examples: Hard 3 - Red 19...Red 19...Set..(Hut, Hut), HUT, Hut. Hard 4 - Black 64...Black 64...Set...(Hut, Hut), Hut, HUT, Hut... E. AUDIBLES 1. A live color tells the offensive team that the snap count is on two. 2. Live color to be determined. F. TWO MINUTE OFFENSE 1. The snap count is on first sound and the O Line will be in a two point stance. 2. The live color will be excluded. Example: 64 Y Option...64 Y Option...plut. -23-
