Tips for a Safe Halloween
Halloween is an exciting time for kids. The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to offer the following tips to help ensure that kids have amemorable and
safe holiday:
•
Carry a flashlight
•
Walk, don’t run
•
Obey all traffic signals
•
Make sure costumes don’t drag on the ground
•
Wear shoes that fit (even if they don’t go with the costume)
•
Avoid wearing masks while crossing streets and walking from houseto house
•
Stay on the sidewalk
•
If there is no sidewalk and you have to walk in the road, walk facingtraffic
•
Wear brightly colored clothing and/or reflective markings
•
Look in all directions before crossing the street
•
Cross the street at the corner or marked crosswalks
•
Only approach houses that are lit
•
Walk with a parent or in groups
