Dear <Supporter> As we prepare to wrap up 2011, I remember Ram Siwakoti, a high school student from Clarkston GA. Ram became a refugee when he was just six months old. When Ram won the prestigious Gates Millennium scholarship early this year, he proved once again that it is not a crime for a poor boy to dream! Courage, perseverance and talent kept Ram good company in his journey and Sewa showed him the way. Sewa volunteers helped him train for SAT. Sewa helped his family settle in the country and provided the supportive environment for them to thrive. We could not have done all this without your support. THANK YOU! Sewa USA provided disaster relief this year to the victims of Japan Tsunami, Sikkim Earthquake, Texas Wildfire and Floods in Orissa and Southern Sindh province in Pakistan. Sewa volunteers organized Diwali Food Drive, Get Inspired internships and Sewa Day to support their local communities. A small sample of Sewa's development work in India include a Health initiative in Assam, Adopt a Child and School Kit drives in Pune and Hyderabad, Street children Homes in Bangalore, Bio-Gas project in Rajasthan, Hostel for terrorism victims in Jammu and a student home for tribal children in Haryana.
