1. The Conversion of Paul, by Caravaggio (1573 1610 a.d.)
The painting above depicts Paul flat on his back after seeing the risenChrist. This event was a great turning point in history. Paul (at thattime called Saul) was an arch-enemy of the church. He waspersecuting the Christians and hauling them off to jail. When Paulwas on his way to Damascus, the risen Christ appeared to him.Paul was blinded for three days, by the sight of the risen Christ!This encounter completely transformed him from an enemy of Christ, to one of the greatest proponent of the Christian faith.There is only one solid explanation for this dramatic turnaround:Paul saw the risen Christ!Biblical Reference: Acts 9:1-22
2. The Storm on the Sea of Galilee, by
Rembrandt(1606 – 1669 a.d.
During the storms of life, only Jesus can speak to the storm, and say,“Peace, be still.”On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Letus cross over to the other side."
Now when they had left themultitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. Andother little boats were also with Him.
