1.1
TheEmployerrecognizestheAssociationasthesoleandexclusivebargainingagentforthepurpose
of
establishingsalaries,wages,hoursandconditions
of
employmentfor
all
SchoolCrossingGuardsemployees
of
theCity
of
Bridgeport.
1.2
TheAssociationrecognizesthemayor
of
theCity
of
Bridgeportorhis/herdesignatedrepresentativeorrepresentativesasthesolerepresentative
of
theCity
of
Bridgeportforthepurpose
of
collectivebargaining.TheAssociationfurtheragreestobargainingoodfaithwiththeMayororhis/herdesignatedrepresentativeonallmailersrelatingtowages,hoursandotherconditions
of
employment.ARTICLEII-MANAGEMENTRIGHTS
2.1
Exceptasspecificallymodified
by
anyprovision
of
thisagreement,theCity
of
Bridgeportwillcontinuetohave,whetherexercised
or
not,alltherights,powerandauthorityusuallyvested
in
management,includingbutnotlimitedtothefollowing:Todeterminetheservices
of
theCity;
Todirectitsemployees;todetennine
and
tomanageits
business
affairs;to
detennine
theemploymentandstructure
of
itsworkforce;todeterminethetechnologyandtheefficiency
of
itsgovernmentaloperationsandservices;and

fulfill
all
of
itslegalresponsibilities.

III-
NONDISCRIMINATION3.1Thereshallbenodiscriminationagainst
an
employeebecause
of
hisrace,color,sex,religiouscreed,nationalorigin,politicalorunionaffiliations.ARTICLEIV-HOLIDAYS
4.1
AllSchoolCrossingGuardsshallbepaidandhavethefollowingdaysoff:ColumbusDay,Veteran'sDay,ThanksgivingDay,DayafterThanksgiving,ChristmasDay,NewYear'sDay,President'sDay,GoodFriday,MemorialDay,MartinLutherKingDay,andThreeKingsDay.4.2
In
addition,effectiveSeptember1994,allSchoolCrossingguardswithone
(I)
ormoreyears
of
serviceshall
be
paidandhave
off
LaborDay.4.3Exceptforpaidholidaysoccurringduringaschoolvacation,employeesmustworkthedaybeforeandthedayaftersuchholidayunlessexcusedoneitherdayforreasonsacceptable

ordertobepaidfortheholiday.ARTICLEV-HOURS
OF
WORK
AND
OVERTIME
5.1
Forallemployeescoveredbythisagreementthehours
of
workwillbefrom7:30a.m.to8:45a.m.;and
1:45
p.m.to3:25p.m.Thesehoursmayvary
if
aGuardcoversmorethanoneschool,orifindividualschoolshavechildrencomingforbreakfastprogram,orifaschoolhasanopeningorclosingtimedifferentthanthoselistedabove.
