 Dear Neighbor:
The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works is pleased to inform you of an upcominglandscape improvement project in your neighborhood.The project is located on Woodbury Road from Windsor Avenue to Santa Anita Avenue within theCounty unincorporated community of Altadena. Please see map on back of flyer for project limits.The project cost will be financed with County funds, and will be built at no cost to the adjacentproperty owners.The project consists of the installation of flowering trees and plants, groundcover, new irrigationsystems, and decorative pavers within existing roadway medians. The median curb and gutter willbe reconstructed to meet current standards. The intersection of Woodbury Road and CasitasAvenue will be reconstructed. The median width between Windsor Avenue and Glenrose Avenuewill be reduced by 4 feet to accommodate a new bike lane in both directions of Woodbury Roadwithin the project limits.During the reconstruction of the intersection of Woodbury Road and Casitas Avenue, traffic onCasitas Avenue will not be able to cross Woodbury Road for approximately 2 weeks. Also, the workfronting Andrew Jackson Elementary School will be completed during summer recess.Access to the properties within the project limits will be maintained during construction, however,some traffic delays may be anticipated as Woodbury Road will be reduced to one traffic lane in eachdirection between the construction hours from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional information will beprovided to adjacent residents and businesses prior to the start of construction including the namesand telephone numbers of Public Works personnel to contact regarding construction activities.Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in the summer of 2012 and will take approximately 5months to complete.
