Sweet & Sour Chicken


What you need: 3 piece Chicken Breast 1/2 1 1 cup Green Pepper Carrot Pineapple chunks Oil 1-2 cups Cornstarch

Ingredient A: 1 Tbs. 1 tsp. 1 tsp. 1 1 Tbs. Soy Sauce Garlic (minced) Sugar Egg Cornstarch

Ingredient B: (S&S Sauce) 1 cup Chicken Broth 1/2 cup Ketchup 1/2 cup Pineapple Juice 1 tsp. 1 Tbs. Rice vinegar Lemon Juice 2/3 cup Sugar --------------------------------1 tsp. Cornstarch 1/2 cup Cold Water

1/8 tsp. Ginger

Steps: 1. Cut chicken (1 long), green pepper(1/2 square) and carrot(thin slices). 2. In a large bowel or zip bag, marinate chicken in Ingredient A. (at least 1 hour or overnight) 3. Drain the marinated sauce if its runny. 4. Preheat the oil on high in a deep fryer(follow the fryer direction) or a medium size pot just enough to cover the chicken. (*) 3. To coat the chicken, put 1 cup of cornstarch in the big zip bag to start, add 1/3 of chicken in the bag. Zip the bag and shake it. Add more cornstarch if needed later. 4. Fry the chicken for 3-4 min or until it became golden and crispy outside. 5. Drain the oil and place the chicken on a plate with a paper towel on it. 6. While the chicken is frying. Heat wok or large skillet over high heat and stir-fry the carrots, green peppers and pineapple chunks for 1 minute. 7. Pour Ingredient B in the wok cook for 3 min or bring it to boil than turn to medium heat. 5. Take a small bowl; mix cornstarch and cold water together. 6. Stir the sauce in the pot and add the cornstarch mix . Stir until the sauce start to thicken. Turn off. 7. Add chicken and stir quickly until coated with sauce. Serve immediately. Reminder: Dont leave the frying oil unattended. Deep fryer is recommended for safety reason.
