The Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School o PublicPolicy (JSGS) provides graduate students withthe knowledge, experience, skill set and network required to succeed in their chosen eld, whetherit be in the public or private sector, with anon-governmental organization or in academia. The challenging curriculum and interdisciplinaryenvironment provide opportunities or studentsto develop their analytical abilities and exercisetheir problem-solving skills, while addressing issuesthat have a regional, national and internationalocus. The school oers ve core programs:
Master o Public Administration (MPA):
Studentsare exposed to core concepts in policy ormationand analysis, learn the dierent roles o politicalofcials and public servants, and study practices o management in the public and non-prot sectors.
Master o Public Policy (MPP):
Students developtheir analytical skills and are taught oundationsin economics, and policy theory and practice. Thisbackground provides them with the knowledgerequired to conduct research and contribute to thestudy o public policy and the application o policyexpertise in the real world.
Doctor o Philosophy in Public Policy (PhD):
Studentspursuing a doctoral degree are given learning andresearch opportunities to advance their knowledgeand move the study o public policy orward.
Master o International Trade (MIT):
Students inthis online program address a range o political,economic, commercial, technological, legal andsocial issues as they relate to international trade.
Master’s Certifcates (MCert):
Students enrolled inthe MCert program gain a solid oundation o theskills required in public sector management. Mostoten students graduating rom the MCert programcontinue on to the MPA program.Our graduates have secured positions with theGovernment o Canada; various provincial andmunicipal governments, Saskatchewan healthauthorities and medical associations; the RoyalCanadian Mounted Police and the Regina andSaskatoon police services; and the universitieso Saskatchewan, Regina, Western Ontarioand Guelph.
