Lab1: Evaluating Internet connection Choices for a Small Home PC Network
Advance Scenario1
T
o demonstrate the performance of WANdata rate from the lab sheet we run thesimulation at 8Mbps and 24Mbps, to see theWAN data rate result, H

page responcetime on
P
C2 Researcher is in fig1

On the sideAnalysis on 8Mpbs and 24Mpbs by changingstatistics from As In to Average time.Similar result shows with download utilizationand upload utilization of 8Mbs and 24Mps infig2.

Recommendation:
Comparing the results and cost, it show us touse 8Mbps for the family is beneficial as8Mbps and 24Mbps not showing muchdifference for the family due to currentnetwork require usage. Furthermore 8Mbps isoffering all the feature and requirement thatfamily needs.
Advance Scenario3
As show in the fig3 we use 24Mbps and75,700Kbps (73.9Mbps) to get required 1second response time from
P
C2 Researcher.
Fig3.One second response time using 24Mbps and75700kbps

when streaming start the I

traffic flowbetween
P
C1 web browser and music server,It generate different results, the table2 showthe different values of the result by changingthe demand objects settings.

he result areshowing in fig4.

study show the
P
C2 Research, web applicationresponse using 8Mb is better.
T
o betterunderstand once again we change statisticalview As In to time average. When thecontinuous streaming started on both sides, itaffects the client H

page response on
P
C2Research.
T
here is indication (as show in fig4)when streaming started it consume 80% of bandwidth this is the reason to slow down theother user on network.
Fig5. Show queuing delay/Throughput
As the network traffic is getting load on WAN.
P
acket are held in queue because of thecongestion on an outbound interface, theresult is queuing delay as show in fig5,queuing delay occurs when more packets aresent out the interface can handle at giveninterval (1). (2)
T
he throughput as thequantity of error free data that is transmittedper unit of time.
T
hroughput increase asoffered load increase, up to maximum the fullcapacity of network shown in the fig5.
Advance Scenario 5

T
he traffic get load on the network. And theresponse time on
P
C2 Researcher willincrease. It really matter what Data WANspeed we are using from 8Mbps to 28Mbps isnot showing significant result on H

 response.
Challenge1

Application Configuration
Heavier application traffic is generated for thisnetwork topology, changing the attributes of each terminal from application parameters.
T
able3 show the change of attributes fromapplication parameters.
Challenge Advance Scenarios1.
In this challenge using different applicationrates show different result then previous.Once the application parameters are define inapplication definition and running8Mbps/24Mbps speed.
T
o get a betterunderstand we shall look at the
P
C1Researcher page response time result.
T
heFig6 shows as hungry application need morebandwidth as each application date rate isdefine higher. As 8Mbps take 0.07 secondcompare to 0.05 second of 24Mbps.
Recommendation

T
he recommendation will be higher 24Mb

Challenge Advance Scenario 2, 4
changing the demand object of
P
C1 webbrowser and music server the result shows asignificant result. As the rate of applicationdownload data will increase the bandwidthwill be increase. Due to the streamingbetween music server and
P
