Dear Friend, Almost everyone knows someone who has been afflicted with Alzheimers disease. The economic cost is now about $300 billion a year and could triple in coming decades. Almost two-thirds of all working caregivers report having to go to work late, leave early or take time off to provide care. Today, as many as 5.3 million Americans are living with Alzheimers. In addition, 10 million baby boomers are approaching the age of greatest risk for developing this fatal disease. Now is the time to MOVE to end this epidemic! While many researches are working together feverishly, theres yet no cure or prevention for Alzheimers. The Alzheimers Association, the leading voluntary organization in Alzheimer research, care and support, is dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for the disease. I will be participating in the Alzheimers Associations 2nd Annual Subzero Heroes Ice Jump on February 11, 2012. I will be jumping into the icy waters of Freedom Lake in Lagrange, NY to help raise funds and awareness for our local Chapter of the Alzheimers Association.
