Newaygo CountyMental Health staff raises funds for localorganizations
Just before Christmas, board mem- bers and staff of Newaygo CMH sat downto enjoy a holiday lunch. This was no or-dinary lunch. Those staff and board mem- bers brought items to auction to raisefunds for TrueNorth Community Servicesand Love, Inc. The items included every-
thing from cookies to a guided shing trip
to a wall mirror.
The room was packed with eager bid
-ders, and at times, the bidding was like
watching a tennis match. All participants
had a great time before returning to work.By the end of the fun and food, $3,000
was collected which will be split between
TrueNorth Community Services andLove, Inc.
“Love, Inc., and TrueNorth provide
food and other resources to many of
the people we serve,” said Mike Hamm,
NCMH board chair. “It was time for us to
give back to help restock the depleted foodresources and other needs they meet.”“We are astounded and proud of the
generosity of our staff. They gave items, dollars, and energy all to give to thoseagencies we work so closely with on a
day-to-day basis and who help those weserve. Our hope is that these dollars willhelp put more food in the cupboards andhelp the residents of Newaygo County inneed.” Greg Snyder, Executive Director of
Newaygo CMH stated, “Newaygo County Mental Health wishes to thank all com-
munity partners for their wonderful ser
- vice to the residents of this county. Also, thank you to all those we serve for yourcontinued trust. This is a great county to
live in and serve.”
