Voss Family Welcomes Parker James Voss to the World
Proud parents Pete and Jo welcome 7   pound, 12 ounce healthy, baby boy, prepare for sleeplessnights.
Seattle, Wash. — Jan. 14, 2012 —
At Swedish Hospital, the Voss family today at 7:03 p.m. PST announced the birth of their first child Parker James Voss. The season’s first snowflakes welcomed Parker after 19 hours of labor with a great dealof pain, pushing, breathing, screaming, and crying; not to mention what Jo and Parker had to gothrough. Waiting at the hospital to welcome Parker were new grandparents Kit and Julie Blue;new aunts Jessie, Molly and Meghan Blue; and new uncle Joel Voss.
Today I’ve truly witnessed a miracle,” said Pete Voss, Parker’s father, who allegedlyknew it was a boy since Day 1. “To think that my wife just gave birth to a future rock star,MVP, doctor, lawyer, and President of the United States is amazing. Furthermore, the fact thatParker feels no pressure is clearly a miracle.”The last few months, Pete has been working with his wife and mentor, Jo, to learn how tohold, feed, burp, clean, and protect the baby (doll), and clean the baby’s (doll’s) diaper. However no class at Swedish Hospital will be the same as having hands-on experience with a real baby.Pete will have several weeks away from work to bond (learn) with Parker … under the strictsupervision of Jo.

Drawing on years of experience as a health educator and being the eldest of four daughters, Jo is prepared to stay with the child and nurture Parker for this very formative stage of life.“Labor was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to do,” said Jo, Parker’s mother.“God bless epidurals!”The family dog, Fleury, will be under the care of neighbors and friends, Justin andStephani Crozier, while the family recovers at the hospital. Fleury met the news of a new little brother with mixed emotions, but has agreed to be accommodating as any dutiful older brother should.“I may allow Parker to share the couch and bed with us on occasion, and I expect we’llall go on walks and picnics together,” said Fleury. “But remember your boundaries, Kid. Empty peanut butter containers and toilet paper rolls belong to me.”
