Xaosmiths are practitioners of the primordial crafting arts that were onceused to create the World. Using a portion of the Elemental Chaos, called achaos node, to extend their reach, they use their powers of creation to forgeor repair equipment in the heat of battle, or to enhance their weapon strikeswith elemental power.
XAOSMITH CLASS FEATURES
All xaosmiths have the form chaos node, elemental modification, and
xaosmith’s guarantee powers, and an elemental craft. Each xaosmith also hasa xaosmith’s retribution, xaosmith’s indignation, and elemental resonance
power determined by their choice of elemental craft.
Chaos Node
The most potent secret of your training as a xaosmith is the creation of achaos node, a mote of the Elemental Chaos that can take on an impression of the weapon you wield, allowing you to make attacks at a distance through it.
Form Chaos Node
Xaosmith Feature
You open a tiny conduit to the Element al Chaos and pull a volatile mote of matter from it, and then forge a link between it, yourself, and your weapon.

 Requirement:
Your chaos node must not be present.
 Effect:
You conjure your chaos node in your square
, an ally’s
square, or anunoccupied square in the burst. The chaos node lasts until you fallunconscious or dismiss it as a minor action. The chaos node occupies thesame space as a tiny creature. When you take a move action, you can alsomove the chaos node a number of squares equal to your speed.The chaos node can be targeted by melee or ranged attacks, but it does nothave hit points. If a single attack deals damage to the chaos node equal to 10+ one half your level or more, the chaos node disappears, and you takedamage equal to 5 + one half your level. Otherwise, the chaos node isunaffected.
Elemental Modification
The great advantage that xaosmiths have over all other crafters is theirability to change their chaos node and their tools into elemental matter orenergy, bypassing the need for a forge or kiln or etching materials. Incombat, they can use this same technique to
target an opponent’s weak
ness.However, the process requires some concentration, and can only bemaintained with effort.
 
Elemental Modification
Xaosmith Feature
You usher a fraction of the Elemental Chaos into your weapon, allowing youto change its substance for a time.

Choose acid, cold, fire, thunder, lightning, or untyped. Until the startof your next turn, all damage dealt by your weapon attacks or your xaosmithand xaosmith paragon path powers are of that type instead of any othertype, and those powers gain that damage keyword, or have no damagekeyword if you choose untyped damage.

More than a simple threat, the xaosmith’s guarantee is a
current of elemental energy that links you and your chaos node to your enemies andhelps you anticipate their movements and find openings in their defenses.

Elemental Craft
While there are few limits to the creative powers of xaosmiths, individualxaosmiths specialize in a particular sort of craft. Hardwrought xaosmithsspecialize in heavy, sturdy utilitarian items. Artisan xaosmiths are masters of delicate motions, intricate patterns, and bringing out the inner power of anobject. Choose either Hardwrought Craft or Artisan Craft.
Hardwrought Craft
You gain the Hardwrought Indignation, Hardwrought Retribution, andHardwrought Resonance class features.In addition, you gain the Enchant Magic Item and Make Whole rituals and theTemporary Fix and Master Artisan martial practices. When you use these tomake, repair, or destroy heavy armor, weapons, arm slot items, or mountitems, you can spend a healing surge reduce the time by half.
Artisan Craft
You gain the Artisan Indignation, Artisan Retribution, and Artisan Resonanceclass features.In addition, you gain the Enchant Magic Item, Make Whole, and DisenchantMagic Item rituals and the Master Artisan martial practice. When you usethese to make, repair, or destroy implements, neck items, rings, or art, youcan spend a healing surge to reduce the time by half.

Xaosmith’s Retribution and Xaosmith’s Indignation
 
Xaosmiths trained under different traditions have different ways of retaliating against those who threaten their allies. If you have chosenHardwrought Craft, you gain the Hardwrought Retribution and HardwroughtIndignation powers. If you have chosen Artisan Craft, you gain the ArtisanRetribution and Artisan Indignation powers.
Hardwrought Retribution

With elemental energy driving your motion, you strike your foe hard and usethe impact to direct the excess energy to your ally.

Elemental Resonance
When you are in contact with your chaos node, your power over itssubstance and form increases.
Hardwrought Resonance
When you share a space with your chaos node, you gain a +1 shield bonus toAC and Reflex.
Artisan Resonance
When you hit with an opportunity attack or Artisan Retribution while youshare a space with your chaos node, you can reroll the attack once andchoose either result.
Using Chaos Node Powers
When you use a power that contains the “node” range, such as “node 1” or“node weapon,” you can use that power from your chaos node’s square
rather than your own.Powers that have the node keyword require your chaos node to be present.Some powers do not require the presence of your chaos node, but can beused through them or are modified when used in conjunction with them.Your chaos node is an extension of the weapon or weapons you wield. Whenyou make a weapon attack using your chaos node, choose one weapon youare wielding for that attack.
