THE WING-T JET PACKAGE
Morgantown High School, West Virginia
As the head football coach at MorgantownHigh School, lam representing he ootball staff andour athleticdepart-ment. We are ocatedinMorgantown, West Virginia. Weinstalled the wing-T seven years ago, and we have beenin thestate Playoffs he ast sixyears.In1998, we werethe State Runner-Llp, and in 2000, we won the StateChampionship.Irr 1997, we nstalled the JET SERIES (split-elid at-tacking series) because teams were loading up theirdefense to he tight end side to stop the buck sweep.Once we were successful in attacking the perimeterto he weakside, we forced teams todefend both hetight-end and the split-end side. Since our installationof the jet sweep series, our regular season record s38 wins and 2 losses and our overall record s46winsand

loses. The Jet Sweep is an outstanding compliment tothe already hard to defend wing-T. Today,
I
want tocover our wing-T Jet package.
I
will go fast so
I
cancover the entire package. That way, you can get a bet-ter idea of what we are trying to accomplish. We can run dur Jet package from eight differentformations. We have ten running plays and six passplays with this package.
I
will
show the plays from acouple of formations and against a few different de-fenses that will give you a better feel for what weare doing.
I
will go fast, so stay with me.Our base forma.l:ion is with a wing-T to the tightend, a slot to lie split-end side, and one rur~r~ingack. We call this set our aceformation. The fullback heelsare set at four yards. The wingback is one-yard wideand one-yard deep from the tight end. The tailback istwo yards-by-two yards on the tackle. We want the wingbackand tailbackin a two-pointstance, slightly angled nside. They aregoing obe block-ing down nside most of the time, or they are goiqg to unthe Jet route.ACE

If they are play-ing cloud coverage, the SE will crack on the scrapingLB, and the SG will kick out on the contain player. OurQB will waggle or boot according to our game plan.Qur next play is our Jet trap. We want the play tolook as much like the Jet sweep as possible.
I
