 About the Authors
Dr. John Hagelin is Professor of Physics,Chairman of the Department of Physics andDirector of the Doctoral Program in Physics atMaharishi International University. Dr. Hagelinreceived his A.B. Summa Cum Laude from Dartmouth College in 1975. After completinghis Ph.D. at Harvard University in 1981, Dr.Hagelin joined the theoretical physics groupsat the European Laboratory for ParticlePhysics (CERN) and the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), where he became actively engaged infundamental research at the forefront of supersymmetric unifiedfield theories. Following his positions at CERN and SLAC, Dr.Hagelin joined the faculty of Maharishi International University, where he established a doctoral program in elementary particlephysics and unified quantum field theories. Dr. Hagelin has pub-lished extensively in the area of supersymmetric unified quantum field theories in such journals as PhysicsLetters, Nuclear Physicsand The PhysicalReview.Dr. Scott Herriott is Associate Professor ofManagement and Director of the Track IIMBprogram at Maharishi International University.Dr. Herriott received his A.B. in mathematicsSumma Cum Laude from Dartmouth Collegein 1975 and his Ph.D. in engineering-eco-nomics systems from Stanford University in 1984. He was Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Texas at Austin (1984-87) and at the University of Iowa (1987-90)before joining the MIUfaculty. Dr. Herriott’s research centers oncooperative strategies in business. He has published in the American Journal of Sociology,Land Economics, the Journal ofRegulatory Economics, American Economic AssociationProceedings, and the Journal of Advertising Research.

the lat-est advances in our scientific understanding of natural law pro-vided by modern physics. In particular, we discuss the implica-tions of the recent discovery

of the unified field of all thelaws of nature by modern theoretical physics for the areas ofeconomics and business administration. We show that the discov-ery of the unified field, together with the availability of a fullydeveloped technology of the unified field,

provides a practicaland proven means to create unprecedented economic progressand success within an organization, a nation, and the world as a whole. The progress of society is based upon scientific knowledge. Thescientificunderstanding of the laws of nature governing behaviorat all levels of the physical universe provides the theoretical foun-dation for the practical utilization of these laws through the vari-ous branches of applied science and technology. For example, sci-entific knowledge of the laws of nature governing biochemicaland physiological processes provides the theoretical basis for allof the applied methods, approaches, and technologies in the fieldof medicine. Similarly, knowledge of the basic laws governingsocio-economics and social dynamics forms the basis for all con-temporary social and economic policies.Until recently, scientific understanding of the laws of nature inevery field has been incomplete. Partial and fragmented under-standing of the laws of nature resulting from incomplete knowl-edge has led to technologies that have, on the one hand, broughta degree of progress and comfort to society but, not being holis-tic, have also resulted in physiological, psychological, sociological, and ecological imbalances. Nuclear technologies, for example, based on the scientific understanding of the laws of nature gov-erning nuclear structure and transformations, have given rise toan alternative energy source that can be economically cost effec-tive,

but they have also given rise to the growing problem

oflong-lived radioactive waste disposal and to a form of weaponsthat has threatened mankind with total annihilation. The contin-ued progress of society now demands the practical utilization ofa level of nature’s functioning which is at once more powerful and more holistic—a technology based on the total potential of natu-ral law available in the unified field.
The continuedprogress of societynow demands thepractical utilizationof a level ofnature’s function-ing which isat once more pow-erful and moreholistic—a technol-ogy based on thetotal potential ofnatural law avail-able in the unifiedfield.
