Importance of Law Law is the skeleton of our society, it controls what we do, when we do it and how we do it.

If we choose to break the law then we are punished. If there was no system of law to control how people operate their lives then there would not be a society to live in. People would be free to make decisions based solely on their principles, they would be free to steal, murder, damage, rape, trespass and terrorize what or whom ever they wanted when it suited them, and nothing would be done about. A system of rules is needed in society to regulate relationships between people with conflicting interests, for example, employers an employee, land lord and tenants and neighbors. A legal system is the only procedure which can ensure that human rights are respected. Lady Justice is the symbol of the judiciary. Justice is depicted as a goddess equipped with three symbols of the rule of law: a sword symbolizing the courts coercive power, scales representing an objective standard by which competing claims are weighed, and a blindfold indicating that justice is (or should be) meted out objectively, without fear or favor, regardless of identity, money power or weakness. Law is a system of rules and guidelines which are enforced through social institutions to govern behavior, wherever possible. It shapes politics, economics and society in numerous ways and serves as a social mediator of relations between people. Law is a system of rules a society sets to maintain order and protect harm to persons and property. Law are enforces by the police, supported by the court and prison systems. Law are written by legislators, such as senators or congressmen.
