Pizza Hut (corporately known as Pizza Hut, Inc.) is an Americanrestaurant chain and international franchise that offers different styles of  pizza along with side dishes including pasta, buffalo wings, breadsticks,and garlic bread.Pizza Hut is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., the world's largestrestaurant company. According to its corporate website, there are morethan 6,000 Pizza Hut restaurants in the United States, and more than5,600 store locations in 94 other countries and territories around theworld.

The role of marketing within Pizza Hut is to ensure that the needs of customers are met and that the business makes money! The first task istherefore to understand our consumers.Pizza Hut has a broad range of customers. This is because pizza isextremely popular with a wide variety of people.In order to satisfy the needs of our customers, marketing is alsoinvolved in New Product Development. There are several steps to gothrough before we launch a new product. The first step is to carry outresearch to find out:· What people think about pizzas (what role do they play in people'slives, when do they eat them and so on)· What do they like about pizzas· What do they dislike about pizzas· What do they want from pizzasThis information is collected together and used to create ideas for  prototypes. The ideas are tested first, before we make any pizzas.Once we have perfected the pizza, we LAUNCH!
 
 Kids PromotionsAt Pizza Hut we want to add value for families with kids aged between4-10. We have a kid's menu with toys or games, which changes every 6weeks to keep our frequent visitors entertained. Pizza Hut has alsolinked up successfully with animated films such as Chicken Run, TheGrenache and Shrek which have proved a hit for all the family.

Pizza hut targeted market defines them as a family product. This is because they don¶t really directly market their customers. They targeteveryone. Whereas their competitors target a certain gender or age. But pizza hut targets a wide range of customers.They try to offer something different with their product as well. Theyoffer a range of stuffed crusts to attract customers. They also offer meatfree pizzas and a salad and pasta bar. Not a lot of restaurants offer asalad and a pasta bar. This is another competitive idea to attractcustomers.
