In the religion of Islam after declaring the shahadah, the second most important pillar is the Salaah (prayer). Whenever the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray, He used to raise both his hands up to his ears or shoulders during the first takbeer, before ruku’ and after ruku, as is proven from the Mutawaatir ahadith. In common language, it is called “Rafa Yadain”.

Preface (Muqaddimah)
All Praise is due to Allah. We praise Him, and seek Hishelp and forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah, Most high, from the evils of our own selves and from our wickeddeeds. Whomever Allah guides cannot be misguided, andwhomever He leads astray cannot be guided. I testify thatthere is no true God worthy of being worshipped expectAllah, alone, without partner or associate. I further testifythat Muhammad is His slave and Messenger (sallallahualaihi Wasallam). May Allah’s peace and blessings beupon him.

To proceed:

Verily, the best of speech is the Book of Allah, and thebest of guidance is that of Muhammad (sallallahu alaihiWasillam) and the evil of all matters is the innovation.Every innovation is a bid'ah, and every bid'ah is amisguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire.
