By the me you read this , our 2012 Island Guidesshould be on the island and making their way toward their temporary housing in the back room of the Cham-ber oce in Klawock. You are invited to stop by and  pick up a box or two to distribute! We start with a stack of nearly 20,000.
 
Our part me Oce Manager has been very busy and very producve with her me this past month. Pleasevisit our website and check out what is new and im- proved! First on your To Do list is to browse the Busi-ness Directory and make sure all is correct in your ownbusiness lisngs. These have been audited and updat-ed, but a second pair of eyes is always a plus! 
 
The 2012 Island Guide will be added to its dedicated web page as soon as the paper edion is in the oce.Rebecca has added photos to the Photo Gallery and sheis dressing up the Community pages with photos that have been sent in. If you have a photo of your commu-nity that you are willing to share, please do email it tothe oce. Rebecca will change these out occasionally or feature a collecon on the pages. 2012 SOUTHEAST CONFERENCE PLANNING
 
The fourth planning meeting for the 2012 SOUTHEASTCONFERENCE was held at the Craig City Council Chambers onMonday, January 16th. In attendance were: Jon Bolling, VictoriaMerritt, Jim McFarland, Wayne Benning, Ken Owen, Leslie Isaacsand Jan Bush. Heather Hedges participated by phone.
 
Confirmed venues for the 2012 SE Conference are:
 
The Craig High School gymnasium— large group presenta-tions to be held on September 25th and 26th, 2012.Island Air Hangar at Klawock Airport—Community Recep-tion on evening of September 25th. Performance of Native Dancegroup confirmed.
 
The Craig Tribal Association facility—Annual Scholarshipbanquet and auction on the 26th and the SE Conference Meetingon the 27th.
 
Fireweed Lodge—Chamber of Chambers Breakfast onSeptember 26th. Directors and office managers from other SEChambers will be invited to attend this event in order to provide anetworking opportunity.
 
The POW Inventory of Accommodations and Vehicle Rent-als was reviewed. Attempts will be made to add some of the miss-ing accommodations, and then the list will be sent to SE Confer-ence to be made available on their website. Jon Bolling will askone of the Craig City Staff members to act as a contact and clear-inghouse for this list. Those who are on this list are asked to con-tact the City of Craig and let them know when their rooms havebeen rented so that this list can be kept current.
 
Businesses who perform food preparation in the course of their own businesses will be contacted for their interest in cateringthe various meals and snacks provided during the three day event.
 
A list of events and excursions available on Prince of Wales during this event will be compiled. It was suggested thatone of the Forest Service Recreation team members might do this.
 
The committee received a detailed spreadsheet with tasksand a timeline to follow in planning for the Conference.
