As the Bible mentions that those who belive in Christ will be resurected on the day of his coming. It also says that "absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". Our bodies may lay in the grave but our spiritual man is with Christ in heaven. Death was the last thing satan had control over after mans orginal sin. But when Jesus Christ was crucifed dead and buried, he conquored death and it's sting. So satan has no power what so ever over those of us who belive in Christ and who will die one day. I'm at peace with myself knowing that when I die, I know where I will be at the bossom of my Lord and Savior.

Amen, mike mosher!

There seem to be so few people who believe the truth of God's Word over the error of human teaching. I am overjoyed every time I meet someone who knows and believes what the Bible truly teaches about death and resurrection!

mike mosher about 1 year ago

contrary to popular belief and error, the dead are nowhere but the grave awaiting a future time when they will be resurrected by jesus christ the (annointed one)jesus has the key to death and hades, and he and only he has ever gone to heaven.

There is a lot of discussion about life after death. I am part of a church in Arlington, TX where you can listen to sermons on-line. December 3rd, our Pastor taught on the Judgement Seat of Christ. It is done as if to watch a play. Listen in and see if you find it helpful.

Remember, those who have ears to hear will. God knows your heart already, He made you.

Matthew 13:16
But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

If you do not want to seek the truth, God knows this too.

Romans 11:8
as it is written: "God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to this very day."
2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

I pray you will seek the truth and pray for it to be revealed to you. DO not accept counterfit truth from the one who would seek to deceive and destroy...

1 Peter 5:8
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Messenger, the righteous will enter the Kingdom of God on a new and perfect earth with new, perfect bodies. Their bodies will be supernatural, like the new, supernatural body Jesus received after ascending to the right hand of the Father (see the description of the ascended Jesus in Revelation chapter one.) Revelation 21 gives a description of this new and perfect earth:

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

Ah, then in that case, your views are somewhat contradictory, no?

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dis- solved, what manner of persons ought you to be, in holy conduct and godliness . . . ?” (2 Peter 3:10-11).

So you are saying that the body is in some measure protected from the dissolution of the heavens and Earth on Judgment Day? Or is the body brought into the new world in much the way the Earth is reconstructed? I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you on this concept, but I am doubting your tenuous distinction between the soul and body.

I will read your other document as well.

Messenger, the body is mortal, but the body of a righteous man has eternal life in the sense that it will be resurrected unto eternal life at the coming resurrection, which will occur when Jesus returns. In the mean time, his soul will enter heaven, but he will not be conscious until it returns to his body and his body is resurrected.

In John 6:54, "the last day" refers to the last day of the Age. We live in the final Age before Jesus returns to judge the living and the dead, at which time the righteous will be resurrected unto eternal life in the Kingdom of God on a new and perfect earth. Thus, the righteous who "eat" Christ's "flesh" and "drink" his "blood" have eternal life in the Kingdom of God in the Age to come, and they will be resurrected at the last day, when the Kingdom of God is established.

I fail to see how your few short passages that you present to refute the idea of an immortal soul somehow trump the idea that Jesus taught surrounding the sacrament of the Eucharist.

As a reminder:
"He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day." John 6:54

Since it is obviously not the body that possesses eternal life, how could Jesus be referring to anything but the soul?
