Polish Festival

@ Federation Square
Bringing a Taste of Poland to Melbourne
Sunday 18 November 2012

Polish Festival @ Federation Square Sunday, 18 November 2012 10:00am 5:00pm In an article dated 19 November 1882, the New York Times declared Poles are extraordinarily hospitable, they entertain without a grudge. The Poles are fond of gayety, of amusement, of society; they love pleasure in all its bright and charming forms. 130 years on its safe to say nothings changed, and the Polish Festival @ Federation Square is a shining testament to everything the prominent newspaper claimed, showcasing Polish culture and hospitality in a way sure to delight everyone in attendance and leave them wanting more. Now in its eighth year, the festival has grown to become one of Melbournes biggest and bestloved cultural events, and its easy to see why. Whether youre a lady with an eye for fashion and jewellery, or just a bloke who loves a snag and a beer, the festival makes welcome everyone interested in trying something different and seeing something new. While our multicultural city is renowned for its variety of crafts and cuisines from around the world, Polish culture still remains somewhat exotic and unfamiliar but discovering it, as scores of Melburnians do every year on the third Sunday of November, is immensely rewarding. This year will see a return of the festivals tried and tested formula plenty of delicious food, cold beverages, dancing and musical performances, a childrens area and unique, high-quality merchandise along with a range of new and exciting things in store, which youll just have to come along to experience! Last year saw a record 60,000 people enjoy a bit of Polish festive spirit in the sun if you havent yet, dont miss it this year at Federation Square on Sunday, 18 November 2012.
