GENERAL HUNTING REGULATIONS
PERMIS AND SAMPS
Nebraska residents 16 years o age and older and all nonresidents regardless o age whohunt waterowl in Nebraska are required to have:
•
A current Nebraska Hunting Permit — Residents - $14; Nonresidents - $81
•
A Nebraska Habitat Stamp — $20
•
A Nebraska Waterowl Stamp — $5
•
A Federal Migratory Bird Stamp (Duck Stamp), which can be purchased rom U.S.Post Oces and is valid through June 30, 2012
•
A current HIP registration number, only Nebraska residents under 16 years o age areexempt
HUNER EDUCAION
Required or all hunters ages 12 through 29:
•
Hunting with either a rearm or archery equipment must have on their personproo o successul completion o Firearm Hunter Education.
•
Hunting big game with archery equipment must carry proo o successulcompletion o Bow Hunter Education.
•
Who have not completed a Firearm Hunter and/or Bow Hunter Education coursemay obtain an Apprentice Hunter Education Exemption Certicate rom Gameand Parks.
HUNER EXEMPION CERIFICAE
Apprentice Hunter Education Exemption Certicate provides the novice hunter age12 and older an opportunity to try hunting and receive training rom an experiencedhunter beore completing Hunter Education. A hunter using this certicate must beaccompanied* at all times while hunting. Tis certicate may be obtained once in eachpersons lietime, expires on Dec. 31 and may be renewed once. Te ee is $5.*Accompanied is dened as: in the presence o a licensed “experienced” hunter age 19or older. Tere may be no more than two hunters using the certicate accompanied by the “experienced” hunter at any time and the “experienced” hunter must at all times bein unaided visual and verbal communication with the child under age 12 and/or the“apprentice” hunter ages 12 through 29. Te “experienced” hunter must, i age 19-29, becertied in hunter education.
