NATIONAL CHANTILLY – 2007
The famous Janssen pigeonsof Arendonk have made atremendous impact in ourpigeon world over the lastseventy or more years. Theyhave achieved unparalleledsuccess and have contributed, more than any other family, tothe production of our modernracing pigeon. Their qualities;intelligence, speed andbeauty, are sought after by allcompetitive racing fanciers. The creators of themagnificent Janssen pigeonsare all gone but one, LouieJanssen, now in his 90’s, whostill resides at 6 Schoolstraat. There are many fanciers thatbecame champions, famousthroughout the world becauseof their wonderful Janssenpigeons, but alas, many of them are no longer with us.Names like Van Limpt(DeKlak), Koopman,Eijerkamp, etc all perseveredthe glory of the Janssenpigeon. Unfortunately with thepassage of time we find itmore and more difficult to findfanciers that continue to carrythe torch passed to them bythe greats of the past.Fanciers who have continuedthe Janssen legacy of intelligence, speed and beautyare Theo and Raymond Ruttenof Groesbeek, TheNetherlands.
