INVITATION

Dear Ms. Neha Kumar

We are pleased to inform you that ASSOCHAM India’s Apex Chamber of Commerce and Industry set up in 1920 with its head office in New Delhi along with the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India are organising a meaningful International Conference on “Ensuring Public Health and Safety in the Mobile Industry” on 7th & 8th February, 2012 in New Delhi.

As we all realize that with the phenomenal growth of mobile telephony in India, there has been growing concern as reported in certain media on the issue of alleged health hazards from base stations and mobile handsets.

To address these concerns, the Indian Government, in 2008, adopted the emission limits/levels for Mobile base stations for general public exposure as prescribed by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) from time to time.

In order to fully appreciate the fact of the matter, it is important that to all the stake holder debate the subject in an non partisan manner and an open forum where we expect participation from Government Officials, the Industry and the end users at large.

We are pleased to inform you that the Hon’ble Union Minister of Communications & IT, Government of India, Mr. Kapil Sibal has very kindly confirmed to Inaugurate and also be the “Chief Guest” at this International Conference.

Prior to the Conference, on 7th February, 2012 we are also planning to schedule a Workshop on Testing and Implementation aspects.

On the behalf of ASSOCHAM we take this opportunity to cordially invite you as our “Guest” to the Workshop on 7th February 2012 at Hotel Taj Mahal, Mansingh Road, New Delhi and 8th February 2012 at Hotel Leela Palace, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. Please find attached the copy of the Agenda for your kind reference.

We look forward to your early confirmation and may kindly contact Mr. Varun Aggarwal, email varun.aggarwal@assocham.com, Mobile: 9910613815 for the same.

Thanking you with best regards,
