ABOUT THE IWW
Founded in Chicago in 1905, theIWW is open to all workers. Don't letthe "industrial" part fool you. Ourmembers include teachers, social workers, re-tail workers, construction workers, bartenders,and computer programmers. Only bosses arenot allowed to join. You have a legal right to joina union and your membership is confidential.It is up to you whether you discuss the unionwith your co-workers. If you are currently unem-ployed, you can still join. We are a volunteer-driven union, and this means we, not unionbosses, run the union. The IWW is not con-trolled by or affiliated with any political party orpolitical movement. No money goes to politi-cians. Membership dues are used to maintainthe union and assist organising campaigns. Asa result, monthly dues are low.
Nothing will change until we organ-ise. Joining the IWW is easy. Justgive us a call. The sooner you do,the sooner things will improve and the soonerwe, and not the bosses, will enjoy the goodthings in life.
