These airlines usually take off and land on the secondary airports.They generally uses chartered or flights as per schedule to provide bargain- basement fares. They often fly in early dawn or late at night in order to avoid air traffic, flight delays and take the advantage of lower landing fees. There is a veryhuge market for these low cost carriers. The demand is sky high, but the airlinessupplying this are very less in number as compared to the demand.For the purpose of growth, they use certain very successfulmeasures like they have a single class for passengers and generally use small,new, fuel economic airplanes( mostly the airbus A320 or Boeing 737 crafts. For further reduction of their cost of maintenance and acquisition, they use minimumrequired equipments on airplanes. In Europe only ,there are 40 carriers which provide low costservices. Among these , RyanAir from England and Air Berlin from Germany havethe most wide coverage and strongest customer base.both of these earn a heftyamount of revenues irrespective of being low cost airlines.as customer id the thekingpin today, these low cost carriers, cater to the needs of their clients and thusare successfully running and managed.
AIM
The aim of the project is to study the scope of low cost airline in Europe anddetailed comparative study and customer preferences analysis between Ryan Air and Air Berlin in low cost carriers segment in Europe 
OBJECTIVES
Operating a low cost airline is very difficult, especially in the face of rising pricesof fuel. The demand may have increased, but so has inflation.Hence, the objectiveof the research is to define the factors that affect an airline travel expense, and theongoing operatives behind the price margin maintained by low cost airlines.

METHODOLOGY OF STUDY
For a research to be complete in all aspects, the study of the primary and secondaryresearch is essential. The information gathered from a questionnaire and thevarious interviews conducted have been used as the guiding path towards theanalysis of the low cost airline industry. Further, to the objective of the research,two airlines _____________ have been compared on the grounds of services, price,quality standard, brand value, and customer loyalty.
Primary Research
Questionnaire:
A questionnaire of 15 questions was prepared and given torandom group of people to respond to.
Interview:
The questionnaire was used as the basis for the interview of thegroup to analyze the perception and level of trust enjoyed by the twocompanies, and conclusion to the better of the two airlines was drawn.
Secondary Research
Internet sources were utilised to research about the price reduction strategiesof the two airlines, and the comparison was done based on the outcome of these strategies.
Online queries were followed to bring out the newer trends in the companies policy towards customer orientation and service delivery.The data thus collected was analyzed and the results were discussed. The preferredhas been highlighted and the differences have been discussed. Also, therecommendations have been provided for both the airlines based on the expectedscope of low cost airline industry.
